Crocket took this one!.

A trail of rocks

Crocket tailing up. Just past this we went down, then up again and saw a really beautiful waterfall.

Minnesota Fred

Putting on another easyboot, (one of mine, which was really great for him but not me when I lost my shoes!! haha) after having lost both of his front shoes.

View of the trail

We're on the edge.

Up at 11,100' there is snow!

This is the actual trail, btw....over the downed trees and all!.

One of our gates

Lower the rails and step over. Some horses aren't so sure about it, but they all figure it out. This begins a 3 miles downhill stretch that is not only steep, but rocky and muddy as well.

This *is* the trail

It actually got worse than this, when we got into some very dense trees.

Rocky cam view

In this section, he took a leap (with me on) over some big rocks and I don't even want to think about what almost happened. Good thing he stood his ground when we landed....kinda hard to negotiate down really steep stuff when it's muddy and you'r slipping all over the place. Now I know my horse can moonwalk!

More of this trail

This is where you have to really pay attention. Though if you weren't paying attention all along, you wouldn't be this far!.

Vet Check, Day 1

Approximately 42 miles into the ride. This is where Rocky pulled off both of his hind shoes at the vet check. First time I've ever lost a shoe, and lost both of them right in front of the vet.....what are the odds of that?

At this point he had four easyboots on. We glued two onto his back feet at the vet check. (he already had them on the front) That lasted long enough to get us thru the day but was tough because his feet were so wet from all the mud that day

More trail

Thru the beautiful forest.

and more trail

This winds thru creeks and lush green areas

Crocket putting 2 hind shoes on Rocky

They stayed on for the remainder of the ride, and we kept easyboots on the front feet
