What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it.

Hi Susan - I haven't ever fed rice bran...mainly because the horses keep their weight so easily on hay. Susan Garlinghouse has a bit of info on her website about rice bran - if you google her name it should come up.

Karen, I have used the Manna Pro Sweet n Sassy which is low in molasses in the past along with Rice Bran. This combination along with two flakes of Alfalfa seems to be working for her. The Rice Bran really helped her gain weight but I wonder what are your feelings about Rice Bran? I ride her 5-6 days a week for minimum 1 hrs but not hard.

I have a 35 year old hores Boomer. ( yes, 35 years old ). We rescued him at the age of 30. He was aprox. 1 week away from death due to starvation. Boomer could hardly carry his own weight. He only has 7 teeth. The people were feeding him oats and hay.
We started to feed him Nutrina complete feed, and WOW did he gain the weight. My son still rides him ( Boomer ). The old man is fat and sassy, and its great. My husband and I have turned alot of people to nutrena complete feed, its the best.

Hi Cindy - I've been using Manna Pro Complete 10. The horses really like it, and it's less expensive than some of the other brands.

Karen, when you talk about using a complete feed with your beet pulp (vs. omolene at the rides), which brand do you use? Thanks. Cindy
