My actual “moving” average speed on the Tevis was 6.07 mph. During the 24 hours of the Tevis Cup there were 2 one-hour holds (vet checks), and eight vet checks total. I was rider #49 – it was a lucky number I think! We kept a fairly steady pace throughout the ride and lucked out getting through the vet checks without ever having to wait. I decided to take Bo. He’d been feeling a bit left out when I ended up riding Chief all 4 days of the Strawberry Fields ride. I have narrowed them down to only 265 in the album. There are a lot of photos here – from all four days of the ride plus trail marking and trail work. Steve Bradley always gets the best photos! Yesterday I started writing about the 100 at Owyhee Fandango but only got as far as getting ready for the ride…. Then I decided, what the heck – might as well throw Chief in the trailer and ride him one day as well. So that’s what I did – planned on riding the Friday 50 on Chief, and then take a [...] This was my third time going to Hell’s Kitchen Canyon and Bruce Burnham (RM) thought it was either the 30th or 31st year for the ride. They do a great job with this one day 25/50 mile ride in Gunnison, Utah. Dave Rabe and I both decided to stay around after Mt. Carmel and help [...] I haven’t had much time to post lately, and the internet has been pretty slow and consistently iffy. When it has worked I’ve used it to get the Mt. Carmel XP ride results posted and other work done that I needed to. I still have a ton more to do and know that there is [...] We had a good time at the Color Country ride this past weekend. I took both horses and rode Chief two days and Bo one day. The weather for the first two days of the ride was really spectacular.
