I think the horses like their new haircuts! It has been nice enough to take their blankets off during the day.
Tomorrow we are heading to Perris, CA for the Bar H ride where the horses will get to enjoy sunny and 70′ish degree weather.

I’m [...] This was the 2nd of 3 articles I wrote for Endurance News following the 2001 XP. Here are a couple more photos of Dave. These were taken by Steve Bradley. The first photo is of Dave and Dave at the AERC awards. The other photo was taken at the Eastern Mojave Scenic ride last weekend. Dave is riding White Cloud. Congratulations to Dave for receiving the AERC Hall of Fame award at the convention Saturday night! It was great getting to see Dave receive the recognition for all that he does. Been busy so haven’t had time to post much lately. Leaving in the a.m. to go down to Mountain Pass to help get the trail marked for the Eastern Mojave Scenic ride which starts next Friday. Endurance riders are usually pretty resourceful when it comes to figuring out how to get stuff to work. Or when we need to fix something. Most of us could easily make a top ten list of things we’ve fixed using duct tape, hay string or bailing wire. Recently I ran across some information on WD-40 [...] Been getting a lot done this week though not as much as I would have liked. I did a bunch of updates on the sunriseranchrides.com website. From looking at it you probably won’t notice. Where it’s going to be noticed is on the back end when we receive the ride entries they are now going [...] Here is my new (old) tack room! It is basically the same but there is more storage in it now. We pulled out the existing cupboards and cabinets and replaced them with new (old) ones. The new cabinets came out of our kitchen and are 22 years old. My tack room now looks a lot [...] I thought this was great….enjoy~! I posted the lyrics below the video. DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW I was really glad to make it to camp at Coso Junction. I was surprised to pull in and find that I was the only one there! Henry Griffin was supposed to be there for the ride, but after seeing the weather report for the weekend he went on home. At least I had cell [...] We’ve been getting a good amount of snow with this storm. It’s great! The horses are total characters. Whenever they see me they come running for the barn. The funny part is that they are all coated in ice. Their backs, rumps, manes and faces are layered in ice and icicles! What if the wind [...] That means it is time to renew your yearly AERC membership if you haven’t done so already. It’s easy to do online. Go to the aerc.org website. From the left hand side of the website look for a dropdown menu with the title “Membership”; select that and then drop down to “Join/Renew Membership”. From there, [...] I’ll start with Bo because he is so simple and easy. His worst bad boy behavior is head tossing. I fixed that simply by using a running martingale.
