Well, at least I hope that I will get to! I’ve entered Chief to ride, and vetted him in. He is looking good, the eyelid has healed up well and seems to be doing great. Chief doesn’t seem to be hoof sensitive anymore. I’m a little sore but that’s what happens when you beat yourself up doing things with horses and trail marking (ha ha). See, I at least have a sense of humor?
Today was a beautiful day with warm weather and a beautiful blue sky. Nannette and I went out and hiked some sections of trail and marked it. I took a couple of photos that are on FB, so check them out. I’ll post one here showing where our lunch is going to be on day 2. There are a lot of changes to the ride this year – for one thing, it’s four days and 200 miles. The entire trail tomorrow is new. The next there days after that are similar but have some changes.
I can’t wait!
Steve Bradley is here to take photos.
It’s been so great getting to see everybody, glad that the ride season is underway! A few of us are here from Nevada – Sarah Martin, Connie Creech, Dave Rabe, Tinker Hart…and myself. Dave even brought Tigger, who is looking really good! Most everybody else is from California though there are a few riders from Utah, Arizona and Colorado.
There were 60 pre-entries. I’ll know more tomorrow for sure how many have entered. The economy is certainly affecting ride attendance. The weather this year isn’t going to affect attendance since we are going to have fabulous weather!
Chief and Bo have been having a grand time getting to play and romp around out of the MUD! Have I mentioned how happy I am to be out of the MUD?

The weather looks FABULOUS. I am going to go next year! I have meant to go the last 2 years and couldnt’ because of various problems, and now I’m down to one horse and want to do the 100 at the end of the month…..but I’m making it a point to go next year, because if I dont’, who knows when my chancce will come again (hopefully will be in vet school fall of 2011.
