I am so excited about getting to go and ride in a warmer climate. The weather is looking really good for the trip, and also for the ride. I haven’t decided yet which horse I’ll ride which days. Last year I rode Chief days 1 and 2, and Bo day 3 and 4. I remember wanting to ride Bo two days in a row. This year I think I’d prefer to alternate every other day with the horses.
Everything is packed and ready to go. It took a lot of time to get everything cleaned, organized and packed. The good things is that I cleaned all of my buckets before leaving the DVE Warmup ride at Coso two weeks ago, so they were ready. I packed four bales of hay plus a ton of food and clothing for any kind of weather.
Been trying to clean the horses hooves out and spray with disinfectant to combat any thrush. It can be tough this time of year. Most of the time the horses hooves are packed with mud but if they are packed with manure, then I definitely need to clean them out or that can lead to thrush and stinky feet.
I have a great new Renegade hoof boot tip to share! I want to see how things go before telling everything, though I can say that the tip involves a “toe strap”. I’m excited about it!
I’ll try to post on Facebook while I’m at the ride. I probably won’t have internet or the time to blog but cans send text messages or photos via my phone. To check my Facebook updates, add me as a friend, search by karen@enduranceridestuff.com
Have a great holiday everyone, and travel safe wherever you are headed! Karen

Safe trip and happy trails karen!
Good luck! I wish I was there riding with you….
I’m looking forward to your renegade tip.
I’m despretely trying to keep on top of the whole thrush/fungus thing here. I usually don’t have an issue, but it’s been very very wet here.
