Some of you guys will certainly get a laugh over this, and won’t be the least bit surprised.
I recently posted about ground temps and how various surface temps can vary by quite a lot. This is helpful if you have a choice in where to park and want to stay as cool as possible.
I couldn’t help but share these photos as an example of where it’s “not cool” to park.
I mean really people, unless we are in a very crowded camp and there is no room – don’t do this to somebody! I sure wouldn’t park this close to a friend, let alone somebody I don’t even know.
I’ve seen so many accidents involving corral panels over the years. In fact, I have damage on my trailer from one such incident and I really am not comfortable having corral panels set up so close to my truck and trailer. This horse could reach over the panels and touch my truck and trailer. It was way too close.
The first photo was taken while I was standing in my trailer door looking out. This doesn’t even show the pile of poop being piled up outside of the panels between them and my truck, that you had to step over to get by.
There is no way I could have even walked a horse around or through that side of my rig.
The second photo shows how much room there was on the OTHER SIDE of the person that parked right on top of me. There were also lots of other empty spots in camp with lots of room.
I don’t mind having to park close to others but please, use some common sense and be considerate of others. There is no reason for this kind of thing when there was plenty of room. It would be polite to at least ask if it’s okay – say the camp IS really crowded. The only horses I want that close to my own truck and trailer are my own!
