Caught this little guy (or girl) in the barn yesterday morning. Sometimes we get squirrels that are smart enough to get the bait out of the trap and not get caught. This one wasn’t that smart.
Took the squirrel down to the river and released it. Should be far enough away that it won’t come back. I’d rather catch and release than to put out poison or use other methods of getting rid of these types of rodents. They can do a lot of damage in a short time digging holes and burrowing under things.
Here is a shot from July 13th of Chief’s left eye that is looking really good. Actually, it’s the eyelid that is healing – just a little bit of puffiness left on the right side towards the back of the eye now. Yeah! Click here to see photos of the original injury.
