California State Park Closures – take a minute and write a letter!

A study just released by California State University, Sacramento shows that State Park visitors spend about $4.32 billion annually during their park visits. Out-of-state visitors account for about 12% of total park visits (no doubt higher in Mono County) and spend $1.66 billion of the total park-related spending. The Capitol Weekly reports that the CSU study shows that the state takes in well more in sales tax revenue on this business than it spends on park operations. One more reason to keep our state parks open!
