250 Miles in Ground Control Shoe Photos

GC Shoes after Cold Springs

Before I began keeping my horse barefoot year around I used Ground Control shoes on Chief. He did really well in them though with the miles I did in them rocks would get into them. That probably won’t be a problem for riders that aren’t doing a lot of mileage in a shoeing cycle though. These photos are from one of the 5 day 250 mile rides that Chief did using the shoes. Look at how dark he was on his lower legs back then! He was a tubbo then and is still kind of tubby today so that hasn’t changed very much. icon smile 250 Miles in Ground Control Shoe Photos Figured I’d post these here so that people can see what his feet used to look like while he was shod. He wore nailed on shoes for a little over a year and is now 14 years old so has been barefoot for just close to 13 years of his life.
