I just made a photo album with nearly two hundred photos from all three days of the Cuyama Oaks XP ride.
The first day started with a bit of fog. It was fun to ride in and kept the temperatures down so the horses could go up the hills without getting so hot.
The second day found us waking up to rain. It wasn’t too bad though and we got a little sprinkled on with some hail for a few minutes. With some trail rerouting the course was safe for the horses.
Day 3 turned beautiful again but still comfortable temperature wise so also very good for the horses. Things dried out quickly so there was very little mud left.
We weren’t treated to the same spectacular showing of wildflowers this year as in ’08 but it was still a pretty ride and a lot of fun. Speaking of fun – be sure to check out photo #138.
