Here are several photos from the first day of the ride. I’ll get the other three days and the complete results posted as soon as I can. Steve Bradley is also posting more photos (click here to see them) – he does a great job going out on the trail and getting good background scenery along with the riders and horses.
A total of ten riders rode the same horse all four days or 205 miles. Seven additional riders rode two horses 205 miles and two riders completed all four days of the limited distance rides on the same horse. Overall first place went to Crockett Dumas riding OT Dytu RSI with a total ride time for the four days of 24:15. Overall Best Condition went to Oak Hill Rambler ridden by Cathy Scott with a total ride time of 27:50.
The Vande good guy award went to Duane Fredrickson and the Jim the Toad award went to Chris Herron. Duane is always helping and Chris is always making everybody laugh. We aren’t sure if we are laughing with him, or at him though.
I’ll get photos of these guys and more results up soon.
We sure did enjoy the wonderful weather all week including on the drive home. I’m really happy with how well both horses handled the ride and the trip. Especially Bo, since he is so new at this. It was great that he got to do his first point to point ride, I sure do wish there were more of them as they are always an adventure.
We stayed overnight after the ride and didn’t get a real early start so that Bo could have time to rest and recover before being hauled for several hours. Fortunately we could get back straight up 395 so getting home was much faster than getting there was!
