There are more and more videos on YouTube that relate to endurance riding – horses in training and videos from actual rides. Some of them are better than others. It’s another nice way to check out the trails at a ride you are thinking of attending. Or just want to remember a ride. Here are some videos from rides in California.
Swanton Pacific 100 Mile Ride, W Region (California)
Eastern Mojave Scenic Pioneer Ride, PS Region (California)
The Tevis Cup – 2007 riders going over Cougar Rock, W Region (California). Look closely and you can see shoes flying off!

Wow! My heart was pounding as I watched that! I’m not sure I ever want to try Cougar Rock. That was great to see, though.
LOL… I thought the opposite..made CR look MUCH easier than I thought…Looks like most ppl who had trouble, just didn’t have a handle on where there horse was going..
Take it cool and easy, and it will be no issue
Hey Karen! Here is a good U-tube vid…a compilation of Vid and pics I took at VR this year…really pretty..
Wish I could get it to load to UT better though..th original is clear and nice…this one is a tad blurry…any ideas?
What format did you start with, Nat? It probably just resized it but must be a setting somewhere. Let’s look at it at DVE next week – we can try it again and see what happens. Cool video! Love that country
About CR – it isn’t bad if you have a confident horse that likes to go but it is steep and slippery in spots. Did you notice DR near the back 2/3 or so with the clumsy horse?
This is one of my favorite photos of Weaver: http://enduranceridestuff.com/Dream_Weaver_Cougar_Rock.jpg
Well, I made it in I-movie, then converted to several different file types so that it can be read by non-mac users..but ja, will have to show you the “big” version
Terri and I had too much fun…actually, I now remember it was Bryce, not VR, LOL..though a VR one is on my puter waiting for me to find the right music
How amazing. The pics always make it look like a big deal! But to see it from that angle, well maybe not such a big deal at all…:-)
Dunc
Whereabouts in the video do the shoes fly off?
