I hope everybody had a good time over the Thanksgiving holiday. We just got back home. It is always good to visit with our family but under the circumstances it’s difficult. I think I know what The Who meant when they sung “I hope I die before I get old”. Aging is one thing, but when you get into a condition where you can’t take care of yourself it becomes especially difficult for everyone. Dave and I both have relatives on each side of our families that are at that point.
It’s enough to make you realize how important it is to do the things that you love to do, while you can still do them. We could have easily been retired for now, if not for the horses – but what fun would that have been? I can only see giving them up when I can no longer care for them myself. I came close to that happening this year so am especially thankful now to be on the road to recovery with so much help and support from friends and family.
I was able to snap a couple of photos of one of my dad’s passions. He loves to rebuild old cars out of scraps and rust buckets and turn them into beautiful works of art. I missed getting any good photos of a couple of my favorites – the rare 1936 Studebaker (all stock) that he has had for more than 30 years. And the 1932 Chevrolet – will post a couple of shots below of it but none show the entire car very well. There is also an old Model T pickup (blue) and a ’36 Studebaker pickup (yellow). He had a cover over one of his more favorite old snub nose Ford pickups, and his hot rod was too far in the back to get a shot of it since it’s so slow to the ground. All of these vehicles run and are drivable. I think he collects cars and motorcycles like I do horses!

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you down the road!
