Grand Canyon Starts Tomorrow!

xp teddy 300x225 Grand Canyon Starts Tomorrow!

Karen's Welcome Back XP Teddy

Tonight at the ride meeting, Annie gave me a welcome back XP Teddy-Bear.  She is the cutest thing, and she came with a nice card that the riders here all signed.  Thanks everyone!  I am so happy to be back at an XP ride, it’s been great getting to see everybody again and the best part that I am looking forward to tomorrow is riding Chief and spending more time with him and all of my friends.  All of you guys are like family to me, so it’s been hard missing you for the last several months.

The weather is expected to be perfect, around 70 degrees and sunny.  We are going to be riding on the Rainbow Rim trail, which is very scenic.  I’ll try to keep Chief as laid back as possible and enjoy the day as much as I can.  He will not doubt have plenty of enthusiasm.  I can hardly wait!

I need to find a name for the XP Bear – any ideas?  Annie says she is a girl.

I will try to post updates on how the ride is going.  I’m not sure how many riders there are though it should be between 40 and 55 with maybe a few more arriving for the weekend.  Everybody is watching the debate on satellite TV right now.  We have no cell service here, but the satellite provides TV and internet.  The Duck said we don’t really need to watch, as he will give us his full commentary tomorrow and tell us who to vote for (joking).  lol!!  I really need to get to bed, because I need a good nights’ sleep so that I can get up and ride tomorrow.

P.S.  I also got a good luck teddy bear charm from Susan Favro that she sent with Dave Rabe – thanks for that too!  I put it on my jacket for tomorrow.  I should have good luck now with all of these teddy bears!

howdy. i wanna ride the grand canyon next year, during month of july probably. i had always heard that u can only RENT a mule to go down there. Surely not. Surely there are ways to get to the bottom while ridin my pony. we took a trip last year with our horseys…for a month long. Went to colorado, montana, south dakota. we rode 23 of the 30 days on the trip. cudnt afford it this year. but next year we are gonna try the grand canyon deal. decided to the intenet thing and see if i cud get some help. you have any ideas, suggestions? there will be about 3 or 4 horse trailers, and 8 or 10 horses. hookups are nice but certainly not necessary. thank u very much for all ur time. :)
