Attaching water buckets and haybags to your horse trailer

Chief on Trailer

For several years now I’ve been attaching my horses hay bags and buckets to the side of the horse trailer.  This works great and makes things a lot neater and easier. Especially at rides where we need to clean up all evidence of us being there.  It’s much easier to clean up if you haven’t made a huge mess to begin with.

Chief does prefer to have some hay put

I Ain’t Joking, by Geoff and Mimi

Geoff and Mimi singing together

Here is a song written and performed by a couple of friends, Mimi and Geoff called “I Ain’t Joking”.  Did you ever think you’d get this far….without a cut, without a scar (I just uploaded these as smaller mp3 files for easier download).

Click here for Geoff’s MySpace page, and here for Mimi’s.  Good job guys, though I have to say that it sounded much better in my

Inexpensive way to put I.D. tags on your horses

If your horse happens to get loose if you are traveling or camping (or at an endurance ride), these are a great way to provide identification – especially if your horses manages to slip out of his/her halter.

I braid these metal ID tags into the horses manes when I travel with the horses or when attending rides or other events.  I also have these ID tags on other items such as on each

Train Wreck Video – my first try at embedding YouTube here

What a weekend – horse wrecks, train wrecks….

My brother in law Paul was on the Metrolink train that wrecked near Los Angeles, California. 25 people (so far) were killed, with many others still in critical or serious condition.  Click here for more.

On Sunday morning my horse Rocky somehow managed to fall through the neighbors fence, into another neighbors yard.  This required breaking a fence post that broke in two and three 2×6 rails complete with no climb wire and hotwire

Applegate Lassen Pioneer Endurance Ride, 5 days & 250 miles

Applegate Lassen Ride Scenery

How I spent my summer vacation….

This was a five day ride covering 250 miles. We went from Imlay, Nevada to Cedarville, California. The ride this year turned out to be ah…..quite interesting and unusual for several reasons. Mainly…mother nature felt she wanted to re-arrange things and so we ended up having quite an adventure. This ride goes over the Applegate-Lassen trail

Quotation for the day

Zenos and Granite Chief

Now, I experience the love in everyone.  I no longer am a person who judges others for being overweight, for being too young or too old, for having their hair a certain way, or for how they dress.  When you judge others, you don’t define them, you define yourself as someone who needs to judge and compartmentalize people.  My goal is to experience unconditional love and acceptance and

Electrolytes and Endurance Riding

Rocky and Granite Chief drinking during endurance ride

Here is a link to my electrolyte comparison chart.  You can also get to it from the top menu buttons.  I’d like to update it so if anybody reading this could take the time to check it and see if they are using a brand of electrolyte that isn’t on the chart, let me know via email or by posting a comment in the blog.
