Bryce Canyon XP Trail Scenery

Here are the results from last weeks 5 day 250 mile Bryce Canyon XP. This is one of my favorite rides, and I was sorry to have missed it.  Turnout was great and from what I hear there was never a dull moment!

Out of 83 starters on day 1, a total of 14 same horse and rider teams went on to complete all 5 days together — including one junior, Chandler Yost, who came in 2nd overall and was also a close runner-up for overall BC!  Congratulations Chandler, and to all of the other riders who managed to get the same horse through all five days.  With the intense rain this year it was quite an accomplishment.

You may notice that there is a new pull code in the results.  It’s not an official AERC pull code, but rather one that we made up.  H-RO.  You can take that to mean that the it was a rider option pull but horse initiated, or as I like to call it “Horse-Ran-Off”.  It wouldn’t be funny had it not been for both horses being found safe and sound, with both riders also in good shape and good spirits, especially having their horses found.

Other news – Les Cars’ horse Tulip reached the 20,000 mileage milestone at this ride.  Congratulations, that is no small feat – Tulip is really a special horse and a great representation of the Morab breed.
