Here is a photo of the rigging. I use a
42" biothane strap. I think it is 1 1/2" wide, and 42" long. I
ordered them from Sportack (1 on each side of the saddle). The start of the strap
is put on the hind D-ring. Then, it goes down thru the D-ring on the
girth. Then back up thru the D that is next to the stirrup
rigging.

Here it is buckled thru the girth. I have
found that the 42" long straps work well with my 1000+ pound 14.3
hh horse. Unless you have a *really* large horse, you
won't need straps any longer than 42".
My saddles see lots of use and have held
up well.

Then back down and buckles to the girth.
You can see how it does move the girth back on the horse -- the
longer the girth is, the more forward it will be. The shorter it is,
the farther back it will be.

Here is a view
from the other side. Rocky modeling :+} I am always careful to
adjust both sides so they are even.
The biothane stirrup
(leathers? straps?), are also of the same width and material. All of
these biothane things have held up extremely well, thru a LOT of
use!
They are also low profile,
easy to clean and don't absorb sweat.
